Alberta produces oil sands bitumen, conventional oil, natural gas and NGLs, sulphur, coal, salt, silica sand, limestone, sand and gravel, peat and ammolite. Advanced or defined resources exist for lithium in oilfield brines, iron and vanadium at Clear Hills, rare earths in Birch Mountains black shale, titanium and zircon in oil sands tailings, helium, uranium showings in the north-east and kimberlites at Buffalo Head Hills.
